An automated Pearson's correlation change classification (APC3) approach for GC/MS metabonomic data using total ion chromatograms (TICs).

چکیده
A fully automated and computationally efficient Pearson's correlation change classification (APC3) approach is proposed and shown to have overall comparable performance with both an average accuracy and an average AUC of 0.89 ± 0.08 but is 3.9 to 7 times faster, easier to use and have low outlier susceptibility in contrast to other dimensional reduction and classification combinations using only the total ion chromatogram (TIC) intensities of GC/MS data. The use of only the TIC permits the possible application of APC3 to other metabonomic data such as LC/MS TICs or NMR spectra. A RapidMiner implementation is available for download at http://padel.nus.edu.sg/software/padelapc3.

Selective and comprehensive analysis of organohalogen compounds by GC × GC–HRTofMS and MS/MS
Thousands of organohalogen compounds, including hazardous chemicals such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other persistent organic pollutants (POPs), were selectively and simultaneously detected and identified with simple, or no, purification from environmental sample extracts by using several advanced methods. The methods used were software extraction from two-dimensional gas chromatogr...
متن کاملAn Integrated Method for Spectrum Extraction and Compound Identification from GC/MS Data
A method is presented for extracting individual component spectra from GC/MS data files and then using these spectra to identify target compounds by matching spectra in a reference library. It extends a published " model peak " approach which uses selected ion chromatograms as models for component shape. On the basis of this shape, individual mass spectral peak abundance profiles are extracted ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Accelerants in Fire Debris - Data Interpretation.
Analysis of accelerants in fire debris involves the isolation of residual volatiles from the matrix and the analysis of these volatiles, usually by gas chromatography (GC). The resulting chromatograms are interpreted by comparing to a library of accelerant chromatograms obtained under similar conditions. This review first mentions ASTM's system in classifying fire accelerants into light petrole...
متن کاملAutomated resolution of chromatographic signals by independent component analysis-orthogonal signal deconvolution in comprehensive gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-based metabolomics
Comprehensive gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC×GC-MS) provides a different perspective in metabolomics profiling of samples. However, algorithms for GC×GC-MS data processing are needed in order to automatically process the data and extract the purest information about the compounds appearing in complex biological samples. This study shows the capability of independent component analysis...
متن کاملAn application of data mining to fruit and vegetable sample identification using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
One of the uses of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) is in the detection of pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables. In a high throughput laboratory there is the potential for sample swaps or mislabelling, as once a sample has been pre-processed to be injected into the GC-MS analyser, it is no longer distinguishable by eye. Possible consequences of such mistakes can be the destruc...
